Don Fields

Don Fields fell in love with driving and high performance European automobiles at an early age. His first car was a European 2800cc V6 with a 5 speed. By chance he had the opportunity to drive a 4 door BMW 5 speed sedan. It was love at first drive. In 1985 he started working, servicing & managing BMW dealers. Don is factory and Bosch trained.

He took a chance and started working for an Independent specializing in M Cars and never looked back. He bought his first E30 M3 and participated in driving schools, instructing and racing. In 1987 he opened his first shop, Autosport Performance and enjoyed a successful 15 year business. Having moved farther south, he then opened MrMCar Inc., now in its 11th year.

He also continues to further his education continually with courses available within the industry, including service and management training through the prestigious BIMRS international service organization. Of which he is a longstanding and proud member. Don also serves as technical adviser for some BMW specialty internet groups. He has also helped with technical aspects of rules for BMW CCA Club Racing.

Don also proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Crew Chief on the long lived McDonnell Douglas F4-D. He considers the training he received in the Air Force to be some of the most comprehensive. During his tenure with the Air Force he studied for and received his Airframe & Powerplant certificate through Embry Riddle University. "It gives you a real sense of focus about quality of work when working on fighter jets; There is no room for error."

Don is a native from Northern New Jersey and currently lives near the beach with his wife Barbara. Don has worked with his town's council and enjoys the camaraderie of the "small town" where he resides. Don and Barbara enjoy spending time with family and friends. Time permitting they look forward to going "Two Up" on their BMW motorcycle and seeing points farther outside New Jersey.
